In Pinzolo the new Fossadei-Malga Cioca chairlift will be opened, a six-seater facility with automatic coupling which will help increase the hourly carrying capacity from 700 to 1800 passengers and reduce travel time to just 3 minutes.
The new lift is the first step of a big investment plan recently approved by the Board of Directors of Funivie Pinzolo as a follow-up to the Agreement with the local entities Provincia Autonoma di Trento, Comuni della Val Rendena and Comune di Tre Ville.
We will continue our investments by building a man-made lake in the area of Grual, which will help us to produce artificial snow in lack of natural snow in the Pinzolo ski area. This program began in 2015 and the aim is to guarantee the opening of the winter season from the first days of December (temperatures permitting).
The chairlift was installed in record time during the summer (work began on August, 27th) by the Leitner Spa company from Vipiteno (BZ) and has a length of 913.29 metres. The capacity is 1,800 p/h and the journey time is roughly 3 minutes.
For the realization of this modern lift, particular attention was taken to the technical aspects as well as the environmental ones. The new drive station replaced the old one and the control cabin is made of wood. The new return station is located at 1,484 metres asl, near the “Campo scuola”, and therefore prevents beginners from the insidious part of the former slope. It is a compact, “short-type” building. Like the drive station, the return station presents a prefabricated wooden control cabin.
The colours chosen for the two stations help them to merge with the surrounding environment and are recalled also on the chairs.
